Marco Polo Permissions

What does Marco Polo need access to?

For the best Marco Polo™ experience, certain Permissions are requested. The following explains what each Permission enables.

Android Permissions:

SMS:  allows auto-verification of your phone number during sign up, and SMS invites for friends you invite to join you on Marco Polo™.

Contacts: you’ll see which friends are already using Marco Polo™.

Camera: enables you to record Polos, and is only accessed when using Marco Polo™.

Microphone: enables audio for your Polos, and is only accessed when using Marco Polo™.

Storage: enables profile photo storage for Marco Polo™ users and Groups.

iOS Permissions:

Contacts: you’ll see which friends are already using Marco Polo™.

Microphone: enables audio for your Polos, and is only accessed when using Marco Polo™.

Camera: enables you to record Polos, and is only accessed when using Marco Polo™.

Notifications: you’ll be notified when you receive a Polo.

Siri & Search: enables Siri to search Marco Polo™ content.

Background App Refresh: buffers new Polos so they will play faster when you launch the app.

Cellular Data: record and receive Polos while not on a wifi network.

While we recommend enabling all permissions for the best Marco Polo™ experience, you always have the ability to edit Permissions on your iOS device located under Application Settings.
